Katey is a psychotherapist specializing in parenting and re-parenting. Known for her
compassion, humor, (and dose of refreshing irreverence!), she assists her clients in
healing from childhood trauma. As they recover from the painful experiences of their past, if they now have children of their own, she also teaches them how to parent them consciously and intentionally.
With a profound ability to hold her clients in warm, unconditional positive regard, Katey believes that the foundation of healing lies inside a deeply reparative, therapeutic relationship. In this safe space, her clients feel truly met and able to experience all of themselves. This allows for otherwise overwhelming and repressed feelings to be fully felt and released, both emotionally and somatically.
Katey holds an undergraduate degree in psychology and received a Master’s Degree in social work from Bryn Mawr College. In addition, she is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional; a Certified Somatic Embodiment and Regulation Practitioner; a Peaceful Parenting Instructor; a Circle of Security Facilitator; a Certified Animal Assisted Therapy Practitioner; and a Brainspotting Practitioner. She is trained in EFT (Tapping); the SPACE protocol (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions); and IFS (Internal Family Systems). She also has completed extensive coursework in the Neufeld Attachment-Based Relational-Developmental Model.
She and her husband reside in the Philadelphia area, where she homeschools her three children (and one elderly but very astute German Shepard).
