Frequently asked questions.
Are you in-network with insurance companies?
No, I’m considered out-of-network with insurance companies. This means I don’t bill insurance directly. Payment is made at the time of session, and I can provide a superbill (an itemized receipt) that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
This approach allows me to focus on your care — not on diagnosis codes, session limits, or insurance paperwork. Many clients find that the extra freedom and privacy are worth it.
What is a superbill?
A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes the information your insurance company needs to process potential reimbursement for out-of-network services. It lists my credentials, your diagnosis code (if applicable), the session date, and the fee paid.
You can submit superbills directly through your insurance portal or with the help of apps like Thrizer that make the process simple.
How do I know if I have out-of-network coverage?
Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask these questions:
Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
What percentage of each session is reimbursed?
What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much of it have I met?
Are there any limitations on the number of sessions per year?
What documentation do you need to process a superbill?
Many PPO plans reimburse a percentage of session costs once deductibles are met.
What are your session rates?
Individual therapy (50 minutes): $175
Extended sessions: variable, based on length
Sliding scale spots are occasionally available for those with financial need.
What is EMDR therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps the brain heal from past trauma and distressing experiences.
In simple terms: EMDR helps your nervous system finish processing the things it got “stuck on.”
Instead of rehashing the story over and over, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping) to help your brain file those experiences away so they stop hijacking the present.
I often integrate EMDR with Internal Family Systems (IFS) — meaning we gently explore and care for the parts of you that carry pain, shame, or protective roles. It’s deep work, but also incredibly freeing.
Who do you work with?
I specialize in working with adults who grew up being the scapegoat in their family — the one who was blamed, misunderstood, or made to feel like the problem. I help my clients heal those wounds, rebuild self-trust, and learn how to feel safe being fully themselves in relationships, parenting, and life.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. All sessions are currently held via secure, HIPAA-compliant video. You can join from your phone, tablet, or computer in any private space within New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Vermont.
How do I get started?
The first step is to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you hope to work on, and whether we’re a good fit. From there, we can schedule your first session.
